General
Xrefer (the name comes from cross-reference) is one of the best sources for accurate reference information.
It includes over 50 reference titles, among them encyclopedias, quotation books, and more.
I personally like the Friday brain-teaser, which is quite difficult.
Search Tips (details)
You can use quotes " ", wildcards (asterix * can be at the beginning of a word) (? represents any letter, good for crosswords).
Also, use ~ before any part of a word you may have spelled incorrectly, and search for dates like >1900, 1550-1600. Xrefer stems words automatically.
