Ixquick is one of the best meta search engines today. Your query is translated (well) into the sytax of each source that is searched, and sources which don't support the boolean that you use are not queried
(if you use NEAR, then engines which can't handle NEAR aren't searched). There isn't much point to it, but results have as many stars beside them as top 10 placements they had. Each result has a "highlighted result" link.
This takes you to a framed page with Ixquick on the top and the orignal page with terms highlighted on the bottom. From the top frame you can jump quickly to any result. Results pages have minimal advertising
(a "spotlight" result at the top and an add on the bottom).
