We've done the Work for You
We have done the research, and found the best tools for the most common problems. For example, you need to find information about a certain disease. You could just use your favourite search engine (or worse, the address bar of your browser), but many pages would be irrelevent, poor quality, inaccurate, etc. If you are looking for medical information, then use the Health & Medicine page! There we have already chosen the best search tools for you, and so you will find what you want without the headaches (no pun intended). If you're looking for broad topics, the links below should help you too.

We Assemble items from Multiple Sources including the invisible web
At Yahoo, if you look for television schedules, they'll tell you to look at their schedules, which may not be the best. We collect the best from all over the Internet, whether it is from a global corporation (ie AOL Time Warner), or something done by one person as a hobby (ie Daypop, SearchHippo). Our Level 2 pages (ie Advanced Reference) give a large selection of quality sources all on one page. Also, many of the search tools we include will return results that you would not find by using normal search engines. In other words, we provide direct access to some of the invisible web.

We have Optimized the Sources
If you search within the Google Directory on the Law page, you are searching only within the law category. If you use Scirus on the Health & Medicine page, then you are only searching within the health-related sections. All searches on Fagan Finder have been optimized for the section that they are under.

We've Added Information and Removed the large Graphics
Trying to find something on the front page of Yahoo, MSN, Lycos, etc is next to impossible. The pages are cluttered with advertisements, news, products, links to all sorts of services, and who knows what else. At Fagan Finder, we've stripped search tools to the bare bone. Pages load very quickly, most have only one image. We have added text (which loads quickly), information which will help you in using the tool and finding what you're looking for. Sometimes we are even able to add features.

We Make it So Easy
Type a name on the first page. Click on the link to Biographies. The name you type is already at the top, and the best tool is already selected. Below are related links, more information, and the bottom has links to Help and Contact. Go to the news page and choose a topic. Come back next week and your topic will still be there. Not to mention that we bring together the best sources for all kinds of information (or have we mentioned that already?).

We are Current
Fagan Finder is usually fairly frequently, sometimes several times a week. When GoTo changed its name to Overture, we changed it on the search engines page that day. This compares to many websites which include Infoseek/Go, or Snap/NBCi, or OpenText (which are all gone or using someone else's database). Fagan Finder also has very few dead links. We frequently check to make sure that none exist. Still, if you find any broken links or searches which don't work, then tell us so we can fix it.
