What is a Bookmarklet?

A bookmarklet, also known as a favelet, is a small program embedded in a link. You can add it to your bookmarks (favorites), just like any other link. Most bookmarklets are used from the links toolbar available with most browsers. This page lets you create a custom bookmarklet for switching search tools.

Switch Bookmarklets

These are souped-up search bookmarklets. They allow you to quickly switch from search results from one tool to those from another.

Here’s what you do: search on any search tool. If you’re not satisfied with the results, click the bookmarklet to perform the same search on whichever tool you’ve created the bookmarklet to switch to.

If you are already searching on the the tool that you made the bookmarklet for, then clicking the bookmarklet will switch to your backup tool. If you click the bookmarklet when you have selected text on any page, that text is searched for. If you click the bookmarklet an any non-search results page with no selected text, then the tool’s home page is opened.
